Nestor Kea—a new addition to NESTERA

More than a year ago, we unveiled our company’s new identity: NESTERA – New ESTate ERA. A new name, a new visual style, and above all, a new direction we’ve decided to take. NESTERA is gradually growing, with new projects, clients, partnerships, and experiences coming on board. But one thing remains the same—we want to do things a little differently, in our own way, and with an impact that extends beyond the worlds of real estate and finance.

And because some traditions are worth preserving, this year we’ve decided to continue one that brings us genuine joy.

Our “bird” team is growing

When we were looking for an animal last year that could symbolically represent NESTERA, the choice was actually quite simple. At the Prague Zoo, we adopted a Nestor Kea parrot.
And this past August, we decided to continue the tradition—and adopted another one.

Why the Kea again?

Sure, his name plays a small part in it. But that’s definitely not the only reason.

The Kea (Nestor notabilis) is native to New Zealand and is the world’s only true alpine parrot. It is best known for its extraordinary curiosity, playfulness, and intelligence. It is bold, very active, and loves to explore everything that appears in its surroundings. In the wild, it lives primarily in the Southern Alps region of New Zealand’s South Island. The Prague Zoo lists it as an endangered species.

In short, it’s quite a character.

And since we wrote last year that its curiosity, courage, and originality remind us of our NESTERA team, we don’t have much to add a year later.
However, the main reason for the adoption isn’t just a symbolic connection to our brand or to add another nice certificate to the wall in our offices. Above all, we wanted to support a good cause and contribute where our help makes a tangible difference.

A Small Step We Want to Repeat

We’re a real estate company. We sell, rent, and manage properties; we build; we help with financing; and we collaborate with developers.

But that doesn’t mean everything we do has to show up in a spreadsheet or a business plan.

We do some things simply because they make sense to us. And adopting another kea named Nestor is one of them. It’s our small way of thanking the people who care for animals every day, and at the same time, a way to support an institution that plays a truly significant role in the protection of animals and endangered species.
And maybe we’ll inspire someone else to do the same.

If you have a favorite animal at the Prague Zoo, you can become its adoptive parent, too. You can adopt any animal kept at the zoo—from the smallest to its most famous residents.
We’ve already made up our minds.

Nestor the kea remains part of the NESTERA family.

And as of this August, there are two of them 🦜🦜
